Dr. Bethany Morgan Nordman, a 1997
graduate of Baldwin High School and a 2001 graduate
of Grove City College, received her medical degree
on May 21, 2006 from the Pennsylvania State University
College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The
following day her husband, Cory Nordman, graduated
from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
The two will begin their residencies in the UPMC
hospital system in June. Along the educational path,
Bethany also earned a Masters Degree in Public Health
from the University of Pittsburgh in 2005. Bethany
is the daughter of Jennifer and Jim Morgan of Bethel
Park, formerly of Whitehall, and the granddaughter
of Ruth and Wallace List of Whitehall.

Moeller Performs in "Cosi Fan Tutte"
Baldwin High School
2003 graduate, Joe Moeller performed the tenor
role of Ferrando in the fall opera, "Cosi
Fan Tutte" by Mozart, at Indiana University
of Pennsylvania. "Cosi" is an opera
without a leading character - six equal characters,
equally significant, that are given equal musical
weight. This opera speaks of human relations,
feelings, love, betrayal, happiness, and jealousy
The show ran from November 30 through December
2.

- Brennfleck Wedding
Baldwin High School alumni of the
Class of 1997, Natalie Brennfleck and Seth Grattan
were married on July 9, 2005. Natalie is an undergraduate
of Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Marketing & Economics
and a master's graduate from Robert Morris University.
She is currently teaching Technology and Computers
at Harrison Middle School. Seth is an undergraduate
of Gettysburg College in Management and presently
is a Large Market Account Manager with UPMC in Pittsburgh.

Christopher M. Burnett

Officer
U.S. Marine Corps Captain Christopher
M. Burnett (Baldwin High School Class of 1992). son
of Ray Burnett (Baldwin Class of 1960), recently
returned to Iraq as a combat company commander. During
his first deployment in Iraq, Chris served as a JAG
officer. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh
in 1997 and the University of Pittsburgh School of
Law in 2003. As an undergraduate at Pitt, Chris earned
two letters as a member of the football team. Prior
to joining the Marine Corps, Chris spent a year in
the AmeriCorps program.

Coat Ceremony
Baldwin High School Class of
2003 alumni and Duquesne University Mylan School
of Pharmacy students Doug Stockey, Renee Phelos,
Jessica Saba, and Megan Coleman took part in
the White Coat Ceremony to recognize their
progression into the professional phase of
their Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum. After
receiving their white coats and pin, the Pharmacy
Class of 2009 publicly declared their commitment
to integrity, ethical behavior, and honor,
by reciting the Pledge of Professionalism before
faculty, family, and friends.

the Mary Pappert School of Music at Duquesne University.
David majored in Music Technology and is employed
as an Engineer at Soundscape Studio in McKeesport,

The
Baldwin High School 2005 Hall of Fame induction
ceremony took place on October 7 prior to the
start of the Homecoming football game. The
individual inductees were: Becky Galati - Volleyball,
Mandy Altomari - Volleyball, Mark Bridge -
Javelin, Mackenzie Gurcak - Discus, and Eric
White - Pole Vault. Team inductees were: the
2000 State and WPIAL Champions Gymnastic Team
and the 1999 WPIAL Champions Men's Cross Country

- Distinguished
Alden Scholar
Megan Rega Kappel,
a 2004 graduate, has been named a Distinguished
Alden Scholar at Allegheny College recently.
To receive this distinction, a student must
achieve a grade point average of 3.8 or higher
with a minimum of 30 semester credit hours.Megan
was also inducted into the Lambda Sigma Society
at Allegheny College and named
President of the Epsilon Chapter for the
2005-06 school year. She was one of only
50 students from the freshman class to be
inducted. A national honor society for second-year
college students, Lambda Sigma combines academic
achievement with leadership ability to develop
fellowship and service among its members
as they promote the interests of the colleges
and universities they represent. The society
offers opportunities for leadership development,
personal growth, campus involvement, and
friendships with other students, leaders,
and scholars. Members of Lambda Sigma are
challenged to fulfill their own intellectual
potential while serving their institution
and their community.
