Baldwin vs. Chartiers Valley - October 11 - Section Title

The Baldwin Cross Country teams ran against Upper St. Clair and Chartiers Valley on October 11 for the section. Both the girls and the boys teams placed first for the meet and the boys won their section and the girls came in second. The boys season ended 7 wins and 0 losses. The girls had 6 wins and 1 loss. Also, Mike Meade broke the course record with a time of 17:42 and Carly Brickett, Kelly Best, and Kristie Domis broke the course record for the girls with the respective times of 21:16, 21:24, and 21:29.

Baldwin vs. Bethel Park - October 4

The Baldwin Cross Country team had a section meet against Bethel Park on October 4. Both the girls and boys teams took first place. It was a great way to celebrate senior recogntion. The seniors recognized were Allison Sheehan, Carly Brickett, Julie Yasko, Mike Meade, Jordan Bishop, Bobby Powell, and Vincent Edwards.

The Baldwin Boys and Girls Cross Country team participated in the at Schenley Oval on October 1. The Freshman race was the first meet and TJ Hobart took first overall with a time 17:35.

Baldwin vs. Cannon McMillian & Mt. Lebanon - September 22

Mens Defeated Mt. Lebanon 20-36 and Cannon McMillian 21-39 (Section record now 4-0). The Women's team defeated Cannon McMillian 15-50 and lost to Mt Lebanon 29-28 (Section Record 3-1).

The Baldwin High School Girls and Boys Cross Country team participated The California State University Invitational on September 16. The results are as follows: Baldwin boys finished first with a score of 30 and Baldwin Varsity Girls took 2nd Place with a score of 46.

Baldwin vs. West Allegheny - August 22

The Baldwin High School Men and Women Cross Country teams defeated West Allegheny on August 22. The girls were led by Carly Brickett, Kelly Best, Julie Yasko, Kristie Domis, Anna Hale, and Trish Ward. The boys were led by David Adley, Nate Aaron, Bob Powell, T.J. Hobart, and Jordan Bishop.

Baldwin vs. Penn Hills - October 14

Baldwin Varsity Football team members Dan Joyce and Ricky Storino each scored from the one yard line on Friday night. Unfortuantely, it was not enough to win over the Penn Hills' Indians. The final score was Penn Hills 42 and Baldwin 13.

Baldwin vs. Connellsville - October 7

The Baldwin Varsity football team hosted Connellsville on October 7. At halftime, Baldwin was within one point of Connellsville with Justin Schmotzer's 44 yard pass to John Englert. In the fourth quarter, Cart Kelly ran 20 yards to put Baldwin ahead 12 - 7. Kelly then ran 11 yards to tie the game 19 - 19. Connellsville went on to score again with 35 seconds remaining in the game. The final score was Connellsville 25 and Baldwin 19.

Baldwin vs. Hempfield - October 2

Baldwin Varsity football team met Norwin on October 2. Shawn Fraser had a 48 - yard touchdown run and gained 100 yards on 19 carries. The final score was Baldwin 24 and Norwin 17.

Baldwin vs. Hempfield - September 23

The Baldwin Fighting Highlanders football team brought home their second win of the season on September 23. Baldwin scored 28 consecutive points to defeat Hempfield. The Spartans took a 7 - 0 lead in the second quarter. Baldwin's Shawn Fraser then ran for three yards and again for one yard to put Baldwin on top at halftime, 14 - 7. In the third quarter, Fraser scored on a five yard run and Cart Kelly finished the Highlanders scoring streak with an 81 - yard pass from Justin Schmotzer. Schmotzer completed eight of eleven for 211 yards and Kelly had four receptions for 119 yards. The final score was Baldwin 28 and Hempfield 7.

Baldwin vs. Penn-Trafforf - September 16

The Baldwin Varsity football team was victorious over Penn-Trafford on September 16. The Quad East Conference win on a rainy, game - delayed night included three touchdowns by Shawn Fraser. Shawn carried twenty times for 141 yards. Nadeem Farah's 76 - yard return after a fumble recovery put the Fighting Highlanders ahead 20 -17 in the third quarter. The final score was Baldwin 33 and Penn-Trafford 24.

Baldwin vs. Woodland Hills - September 9

The Baldwin Varsity football team met Woodland Hills on September 9 for the Quad East Conference opener. Baldwin got a safety for two points late in the third quarter. The final score was Woodland Hills 28 and Baldwin 2.

Baldwin 0 vs. Upper St. Clair 40 - September 2

Baldwin vs. Mt. Lebanon - August 26

Baldwin High School varsity football team opened their 2005 season with a non-conference game against Mt. Lebanon. Quaterback Justin Schmotzer completed 20 of 36 passes for 217 yards. Justin Hargrove scored on a 47-yard run and Cart Kelly on a 12-yard pass from Schmotzer. The final score was Mt. Lebanon 23 and Baldwin 13.

HMS Football

Harrison Middle School's seventh and eighth grade football teams had a successful season due to preparation at practice and commitment on the field. The eighth grade team finished with a 4-2-1 record overall. The seventh team grade finished with a 2-4-1 record.

Varsity Golf

WPIAL Semifinals

The Baldwin Varsity Golf team competed in the WPIAL Semifinals and qualified for the finals. Scores were: Jon Austin 76, Mike Unrath 80, Chas Hoffmann 82, Anthony Filek 82 & Mike Duffy 88
