Student School Board Representative Announcement (2017-2018)

Do you aspire to have a career in politics? Do you want to be a voice for our student body?

If you answered yes to either question, then this announcement may be for you.

The Baldwin-Whitehall School District is looking for Student School Board Representatives from Grade 10 to serve during the 2017-2018 school year.

What are the responsibilities of a Student School Board Rep?

  • Attend School Board meetings on the first and second Wednesday of each month.
  • Report to the Board Room by 7:00 pm on the night of each School Board meeting and remain until the conclusion of the public session (typically 2-3 hours).
  • Meet with Dr. Graves during a school day prior to each School Board meeting to review student-related presentation topics.
  • Represent students in our district K-12 and prepare an oral report for the School Board meetings.

Student School Board Representatives must maintain the same eligibility requirements as our athletic and extra-curricular programs.

If you will be in grade 10 next year and you are interested in being a Student School Board Representative for the 2017-2018 school year, then stop by the high school office to pick up an application. One 10th grade student will be voted into the position by his/her peers, and a second 10th grade student will be selected by the high school administration. (The current students who hold the positions will assume the same role until graduating).

The deadline to submit an application is the end of the school day on Tuesday, June 6, 2017.
