HMS Student Council is sponsoring The Annual Turkey Trot on Wednesday, November 22nd during school. This Harrison tradition has been a success in the past and is a much anticipated event. The students will engage in physical activity while working to give back to others!!!

During the morning hours, students will walk around the school grounds as many times as possible to raise money for needy families and to contribute to a donation for the struggling schools in the south who were victims of the various hurricanes. We are asking every middle school student to donate at least $2.00 in pledges in order to participate in this activity. A percentage of the money raised will be used to support families in our community and the drive for schools that have been impacted by the hurricanes this fall.

We plan to incorporate music, a Staff vs. Harrison 8th Volleyball game, and other surprises to make the Turkey Trot a fun and energizing morning for the students. We also hope to promote the goals of physical fitness and the development of a healthy lifestyle.

Students should turn in their money (at least $2.00) and the permission slip below to their first period teacher by Tuesday, November 21st. Please refer any special circumstances to Mrs. Wells or Ms. Carlson. Look under "School News" to access and download the permission form.

Students who do not want to participate in the Turkey Trot will remain inside the building with adult supervision. Please call us at 412-885-7530 if you have any questions or concerns related to this event.

Thanks for your support,

Harrison STUCO
