Leadership - Tribute to Heroes
Have
you ever saved someone's life? Have you ever
put out a roaring fire? Did you ever put your
life aside to save a stranger? Although most
of us answer no to all of these questions,
there are people who hold the titles of paramedic,
fireman, and policeman, who answer, "Yes"!
On Friday, May 16, 2003 a group of Leadership
students at Harrison Middle School, paid tribute
to these heroes by hosting a picnic on the
school grounds.

Bulb
Planting Project at Whitehall Elementary
Third
grade teacher, Mrs. Finet, with the help of her
student teacher, Ms. Saras, planned and organized
a grade level memorial project in remembrance
of September 11th. The third grade curriculum
was the driving force in accomplishing their
goal as various objectives in social studies,
reading, English, mathematics, and science were
incorporated into this grade level endeavor.
Nine
patriotic third grade classes, with their teachers,
cooperatively and proudly planted an 8 X 13 foot
early spring flower garden to spell U.S.A. in
red tulips, white crocuses, and blue hyacinths.
Each letter was planted with the three different
bulb types with the intent to create a red, white,
and blue striped effect. The learning experience
will continue as the entire school body anxiously
anticipate the final result.
