Baldwin-Whitehall School District has joined a
statewide public outreach campaign designed to promote
the accomplishments, accountability and value of
Pennsylvania's public schools.
Baldwin
Highlander Marching Band
TOB Chapter 8 Champions
For
the third consecutive year, the Baldwin Highlander
Marching Band is Tournament of Band Chapter 8
group 4 champions. The band received trophies
for best music, general effect, marching, woodwinds,
percussion, brass, and auxiliary at the championship
competition held November 2 at West Virginia
University Mountaineer stadium.

visits third grade class at Whitehall
Elementary
At
Whitehall Elementary School, Dr. William R. Lewis
discussed the importance of caring for teeth
with Miss Jennifer Lewis’ third grade class.
Dr. Lewis is a member of the Baldwin-Whitehall
Chamber of Commerce and has his practice located
in the old Provost School Building. The students
were taught how to brush their teeth properly
and the different names for all the teeth. He
closed his presentation, by asking the students
questions about his talk on the importance of
caring for teeth.

kindergarten classes from Paynter Elementary
School visited the residents of Oakleaf Personal
Care Home on October 31. Wearing their Halloween
costumes, students of Mrs. Mervos, Mrs. Corriagan,
and Mrs. McDonough sang Halloween songs.

Professional
storyteller, Mrs. Kim Adley recently visited
the third grade class of Ms. Vallus at Whitehall
Elementary School. Mrs. Adley arrived to the
classroom as "Spiderella" and told
stories about the traditions and history of the
Halloween holiday.

Band performs at November 24 Steeler
Game
The
Baldwin Highlander Marching Band was invited
to the November 24 Pittsburgh Steeler game. Outside
of Heinz Stadium on Art Rooney Avenue, the Baldwin
Band entertained Steeler fans with a variety
of musical selections. On the stadium field,
the band then performed a pre-game and half-time
show before a crowd of over 60,000.

is Fundamental Poster Winner
Whitehall
Elementary School third grade student,
Sarah Powell is the winner of the RIF (Reading
is Fundamental) poster contest. This level
of the contest is sponsored by Whitehall
Elementary PTA. Sarah's poster will now
be entered into the next level of judging.
