Students Learn About Sound
Mr.
Ed Damer, a communication specialist from Verizon
recently visited Ms.Adrienne Vallus's third grade
class at Whitehall Elementary. The class is learning
about sound as part of their science unit. The
students learned about fiber optics and how the
sound that is made into a phone is transported
to another phone.

Students Monitor Stream Quality
Baldwin
High School teacher Sarah Lyle and her 9th and
10th grade biology classes recently visited a
local stream. The students are piloting a new
hands on unit on invertebrates found in streams.
The students are also gathering data to submit
to a research company to help monitor stream
quality.
