Elementary is recognizing Anti-Bullying Kickoff
Week from September 22nd –26th. The
school will be hosting activities to convey a clear
and consistent message of opposition to bullying.

students will receive an anti-violence pencil
in their classroom. |

There
will be a display of books and magazines related
to bullying in the library. |

Mrs.
Prezel will show a video focusing on this
topic during Library class. |

September 24, 2003 |

“True
Blue Friend Day” – students are
encouraged to wear all blue to signify the
commitment to being a true blue friend. |

The
5th grade S.O.A.R students will perform an
anti-bullying play at McAnnulty Elementary
School. |

September 26, 2003 |

Saltworks
Theatre Company presents the bully prevention
play “Queen Bee”. |
|
|
| A positive referral
program called “Happy Grams” will be
introduced to students during this week. In conjunction
with the school wide character education initiative,
the “Happy Grams” will be used by the
teachers to randomly “catch our students being
good.” The “Happy Grams” will
be sent to the principals and the students will
be rewarded monthly and their pictures will be displayed
in the school. “Happy Grams” will reinforce
the importance of the character education initiative. |

| Throughout the week,
the morning announcements will include quotes
or sayings related to anti-bullying. The school
will also be decorated with appropriate banners
and balloons for the lobby.
