- Weather Presentation
Mrs. Delon's fourth grade classroom at
Whitehall Elementary demonstrated their weather know
how in mini weather report demonstrations. The students
were given the task to become junior meteorologists
for
Channel 204 News. They had to research and compile
weather information in order to be ready for their
presentations. In order to make the data "authentic",
the children employed their knowledge of weather
instruments such as: anemometers, hygrometers, rain
gauges, and barometers. The students created weather
maps and simulated various types of cloud cover.
In addition, the children practiced their public
speaking skills by becoming news anchors for their
classmates. Weather is a very comprehensive unit
