Kindergarteners loved their beach theme day! The
sunshine cooperated as they laid their towels out
back of Paynter School. Students circulated to different
activities including a craft of making starfish,
crab-walking relay races and a beach-themed snack
and cool drink.

Second grade classrooms 115 & 116 participated
in a literature pajama party. While wearing their
pj's at school, they read and enjoyed the story
"The Art Lesson" by Tomie DePaola. As
a culminating activity students drew on a pillowcase
just as Tomie did as a child.

"This year's annual 4th & 5th grade
musical at Paynter Elementary was a huge success!
The students all worked very hard to produce an
excellent show for students, teachers, adminstration
& families. Thank you to all of the kids for
their hard work & to their teachers for their
help & support throughout the process! Congratulations
on a fantastic performance!"
3rd Grade
Musical
Mrs. Knerr's 3rd grade class from Paynter Elementary
performed a one of a kind musical entitaled "The
Missing Pocket." Students demonstrated musical
skills they had learned throughout the year by performing
on their recorders, Orff instruments and even square
dancing! Two of the students in this class also
showed off their violin playing abilities by performing
"Ode to Joy" for their families. Congratulations
to all performers and actors on a superb demonstration
of talent!

- ELL Beach Party
ELL students in Mrs. Gorham’s class had
a “beach day”. They enjoyed beach-themed
centers as they read under an umbrella while wearing
sunglasses, mixed water, sand and shells to create
a mini ocean, built actual sandcastles and made
sand art. These fun, hands on activities helped
to build background and vocabulary.

Each year the PTA sponsors McMay Day, a day to
culminate the school year at McAnnulty. Each year
a different theme is selected. The children have
the opportunity to learn in a setting other than
the classroom. This year's theme was McCircus Day!
