Students in Miss Driscoll's 3rd Grade General Music Class practice playing their recorders.
Welcome to the Baldwin Whitehall School District Elementary General Music website. Students in kindergarten and first grade general music classes meet for 40 minutes once per six day rotation. Students in second through fifth grade general music classes meet for 40 minutes three times per six day rotation on a semester basis (either August-January or January-June). During this time, the students are presented with a well-rounded curriculum based upon the National Standards for Music Education. Activities include (but are not limited to) reading and writing music, singing, dancing and instrument playing. While there is much to learn about music in elementary school, the joy of music making remains a top priority in our department.

The music department promotes the development of communication, cooperation and complex thinking skills as outlined in the Baldwin Whitehall School District’s Vision Statement. It is our belief that in presenting appropriate musical experiences for the students of our district we are providing a challenging yet motivating curriculum offering the opportunity for all students to achieve maximum potential while attaining a life-long love for music.
