Recorder Information

         Part of third grade music is learning to play the recorder.  The students will learn to read notes and understand note values.  This knowledge will then be applied to playing songs on the recorder.   Examples of songs the students will learn include Hot Cross Buns and Mary Had A Little Lamb.

Music Class Information

Various musical concepts are introduced to the students through singing.  Below are examples of these concepts.

Mr. Dressler's 3rd grade class performs "Jingle Bells" on recorders (in April!). Students take turns accompanying with bells and singing the letter names. They will learn many songs during their two 9-week periods of music class.
