Baldwin High School Piano Classes

PREREQUISITE: NO PRIOR PIANO EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
GRADES: 9 through 12
CREDIT: 1 (FULL YEAR)

This class is designed for the beginner who wants to succeed at playing the piano.              Students learn to play with proven, fun, and effective strategies.  Using popular and  classic songs, students more than just the piano, students learn self-discipline, study strategies, and how to “juggle” difficult tasks.  Basic music theory is explored while students work with computers to create their own sheet music and learn the musical  elements.  Here are some of the songs that WILL be learned:  Billy Joel’s “Piano Man”, Sarah McLaughlin’s “I Will Remember You” , The Pittsburgh Penguin’s Hockey Theme, and “Imagine” by John Lennon.  Bruce Springsteen, Journey, Beethoven’s “Ode To Joy” from his 9th Symphony, “Au Claire De La Lune”, “Jingle Bells”, and many more.
