"Crazy
for You," The New Gershwin Musical, is filled
with song and dance in the tale of boy meeting
girl in the Wild West where they spread goodness
and ultimately fall in love. Bobby Child, the rich
son of a banking family, has his heart set on performing
for Bela Zangler, the owner of the Zangler Theater
in New York; but Bobby is asked by his mother to
travel to Deadrock, Nevada, to foreclose on a rundown
theater. After arriving in Deadrock, Bobby meets
and falls in love with Polly Baker, whose father,
Everett, owns the theater. Bobby has the idea to
save the Gaiety Theater by "putting on a show." Hilarity
ensues with the arrival of Bela Zangler and the
Follies Girls with masquerades, mistaken identities,
and love triangles. The audience will recognize
many familiar songs in the score, including "Someone
to Watch Over Me," "They Can't Take That
Away From Me," and the spirited "I've
Got Rhythm.
