Baldwin High School’s student news team at The Purbalite have been recognized as the 11th school in the United States to earn Distinguished Site status in 2023 and the first in Pennsylvania.

400 high school newspapers nationwide compete for Distinguished Site status from School Newspapers Online each year.

Individual journalists from the paper earned accolades, as well. Congratulations to Evelyn Esek for winning a Best of SNO for her review of Dolly Parton’s new rock album and to Kevin Hutchinson, Adam Degenhardt, Nico Macurak, Jacob Staley, and Jackson Sgattoni for their Best of SNO story on a sports relegation plan.
