Baldwin High School is home to a thriving American Sign Language Club and course. On November 6th, the BHS American Sign Language Club hosted a Silent Dinner for BHS students and welcomed Deaf community members from around Pittsburgh. This event empowered students to practice ASL conversational skills while engaging Deaf culture with an evening of socializing.

Baldwin High School teacher Lindsey Graney shares, “It was a great event! Students from ASL 1 and 2 engaged in conversation with members of the Deaf community, both from the BW community and from Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf. It was amazing to see the students applying the language they had learned in the classroom to real-life conversations.”
