Last year, Baldwin High School students Dylan Leonhardt, Julian Marshall, and Mason Lewis earned second place in the Pennsylvania Personal Finance Challenge. In this competition, students showcase their skills in earning income, buying goods and services, saving, using credit, investing, and insuring. Due to their high-ranking performance at the state level, the trio was invited to the national event in May. The students traveled to Columbus for the event and competed at the historic Federal Reserve Bank. For the competition, the team received financial information for a fictional family, then worked to create a complete financial plan for that family, which they then presented to judges with careers in the finance field.
