Counseling Department Hosts Events for Students Considering Colleges

The counseling department hosts visits from post-secondary schools. Reps come to the high school to meet with interested students. Some visits include application workshops or instant-decision days. Schools often extend discounts on admission fees to students through these events.

Over the last year, student attendance at these meetings has increased significantly due to improved communication via Skylerts to students and parents. Many colleges track "demonstrated interest" from students, allowing them to see who is really serious about attending their school. Students who attend meetings at school and/or go to the college have an increased chance of admission as well as increased scholarship awards.
