High School Students Compete in Poetry Competition

BHS students closed out classes before the holiday break with a poetry competition. On December 21st, Ms. Schulte and her senior English students hosted a Poetry Out Loud competition in Baldwin Bean. Twenty-six students memorized poems of their choice and recited them in front of judges. Judging the competition were Mrs. Del Re, the high school librarian, Mrs. Huffman, the Director of Curriculum for the Baldwin-Whitehall School District, and Dr. Peretin, the District's Director of Information and Instructional Technology. Angela Miller won the competition and now has the opportunity to compete in the regional competition on February 2nd at the Regent Square Theatre. Regional winners go on to compete for cash prizes at the state and national level.
