Purbalite Wins First-place Designation for Seventh Straight Year

For the seventh straight year, the Purbalite has earned a "first place" designation in a contest run by the American Scholastic Press Association. The contest covers print editions of the paper from the 2017–18 school year. The contest judges high-school newspapers from across the country and places them into one of three designations: third place, for developing newspapers; second place for solid papers with room for improvement; and first place papers.

Mr. Harrison commented, "As always, we are following the tradition of strong showings in this contest started two decades ago by Christine Kondrot, longtime Purbalite sponsor from way back in the day, and we are only able to do so because the Purb kids continue to be some of our school's most awesome rock stars."
