Special Olympics Club and Partners Phys. Ed. have a meaningful December.

What does it look like when you bring communities together to support diversity, tolerance, and acceptance? It looks like a night at The Hollywood Theater in Dormont! Members of the Special Olympics Club and Partners Physical Education Classes were special guests of the Miracle League of the South Hills to watch a private viewing of Wonder. It was a night to remember. The movie reminded the audience to accept each other's differences, inspired them to support each other, and, most importantly, encouraged them to be kind.

A special thanks is extended to Sean Casey and Tim Gebhart of the Miracle League of the South Hills. The District looks forward to future opportunities to work together!

December also brings a new tradition that was started a few years back! Members of the club and class team up to make holiday cards for local residents and shut-ins. This has now become an annual event that everyone looks forward to and even alumni come back to participate in. Students will color, cut, paste, and glitter over two hundred cards that will be divided up and given to members of the communities. Students and staff want to let the community know that students are thinking of them during this time of year, and to bring them some holiday cheer.
