In February, students enrolled in the American Sign Language 1 course at Baldwin High School participated in “Deaf for the Day.” 

As part of this experience, students wore earplugs during free time throughout the day and during instructional time with teacher approval. Through doing so, students were able to simulate a mild–moderate hearing loss and better understand some of the daily communication challenges individuals with hearing loss may experience.
