Seventh-grade art students have recently been delving into the technical world of drawing by learning different shading and drawing techniques. Students recently pushed those skills to the next level by drawing animal eyes of their choice. This activity is a precursor for our next big project where students will take their learned skills and create their own mythological creatures as combinations of animals of their own design. These creatures will feature a creative story, name, and the learned and applied drawing skills with colored pencil and pastel. These kids did AWESOME on the eyes. I can’t wait to see their full creatures.
