Building Skills with Hour of Code

During the week of the December 4th, students throughout Harrison Middle School participated in the Hour of Code in an effort to provide them with a foundation for success in any twenty-first-century career path. Mrs. Short and Mrs. Willman collaborated to design grade-level activities that students completed in their math classes. The Hour of Code is a worldwide effort to introduce students to computer science, to demonstrate that anybody can learn the coding basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. This grassroots campaign is now supported by over 400 partners and 200,000 educators worldwide. By providing every student the opportunity to learn computer science, staff will work to nurture problem-solving skills, logic, and creativity. For more information you can visit
