Mongol Madness

Were Genghis Khan and the Mongols barbaric or civilized? This was the essential question driving the debate between Ms. O'Brien and Mr. King's social studies classes. Dubbed "Mongol Madness," this two-day event required students to formulate arguments to support their side while citing facts and evidence from primary- and secondary-source analysis completed during class. At the conclusion of the debate, a Nearpod Poll revealed that 68% of students felt that Genghis Khan was, in fact, barbaric while 32% felt he was civilized.
