Red Ribbon Spirit Week Strengthens Community

This year, Red Ribbon Spirit Week took place from October 25–29th, to support the message of staying drug free. Ms. Jean Willams (HEC Social Worker) and Ms. Jessica Thomas (HEC School Counselor), along with Ms. Youyi Cheng (School Counseling Intern) planned and communicated the theme days for students to participate and pledge their commitment to stay drug free. One of students’ favorite days was “Team Up Against Drugs,” when the school community represented their favorite sports team by wearing team apparel. We are so grateful to have each other as teammates in all we do!

The week culminated with a food drive of donations for South Hills Interfaith Ministries (SHIM), an agency that has a long-standing partnership with the families, students, and faculty of Baldwin-Whitehall School District. We are thrilled to report that we were able to collect 394 lbs of non-perishable food items for the local food bank!
