On May 11, 2023, elementary and middle school students from eight school districts competed in the annual Junior Envirothon at South Park. Twenty BWSD elementary students were among the competitors who answered questions covering aquatic ecology, wildlife, soils, forestry, and invasive species. In the end, in the middle school competition, a team of five sixth-graders from J.E. Harrison Education Center placed third in the 6th-8th grade division. Those students were Braydon, Erik (not pictured), Gabriel, Divyesh, and Team Captain Genevieve. Genevieve also won first overall in the aquatic ecology category. Congratulations!
