Welcome Letter

Dear J.E. Harrison Education Center Families,

My name is Heatherlyn Wessel and I am excited to introduce myself as the Principal of J.E. Harrison Education Center.   I have been proudly serving the Baldwin-Whitehall community for the past 14 years i n many capacities.   I began my career as a Kindergarten teacher, was promoted to Assistant Principal at W.R. Paynter Elementary School, before entering my principalship at McAnnulty Elementary School, where I have spent the last 3 years. Rounding out the administrative team at J.E. Harrison Education Center  is Melissa Ferguson and Alicia Johnson.  Ms. Ferguson is returning to her role as Assistant Principal and Ms. Johnson is transitioning back to the elementary world after time spent the secondary level. As an administrative team, we are happy and honored to welcome all students back to in-person instruction for the 2021-2022 school year! 

I’m eager to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child’s success. Not only am I thrilled to be working with your children, but I look forward to the work we will do together.   I am excited to see your children through your eyes!   I cannot wait to share with you the great things they do throughout their days here at J.E. Harrison Education Center. 

Along with the teachers and staff, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success established in the Baldwin-Whitehall School District by building strong relationships with parents, students and community partners. I am elated to have the opportunity build connections as I serve i n the role of Principal at J.E. Harrison Education Center. 

I am looking forward to traveling into a new school year with you and your students.
