To begin ELA this year, all third-graders are reading a novel called Clementine. We started off by visualizing what we thought could happen in this story. Jack thought that this story would be about a bear who was eating a clementine, Amelia thought that this story would be about going to the zoo, and Poppy thought that this story would be about a blue dog who has a giant clementine stuck on his back! As we continue to read this novel, the students will find out about all of the mischief Clementine gets herself into. This novel takes us on an adventure with the eccentric and lovable, yet unintentionally devious, eight-year-old Clementine through third grade. The students will be able to make connections to their own experiences now that they are in third grade!
