Ms. Lauble's fourth-grade students have been working hard on their reading fluency! By utilizing our new phonics program called UFLI, students are using magnet boards to build words and practice their decoding (finding individual sounds) and encoding (spelling) skills. Students are doing an excellent job decoding by demonstrating strong phonemic awareness and applying various strategies to tackle unfamiliar words. Their ability to break down complex words into single sounds is getting stronger by the day! The engaging nature of UFLI allows the students to share techniques and support one another in navigating challenging texts. This year is sure to be a success!
