Springing into Language Lessons

Throughout the school year, students within two of the specialized classrooms at LES have been participating in themed language-lessons as part of their Speech Therapy. Of course, the theme for April is spring! Students have been learning new vocabulary words related to the season during book-sharing activities, classroom discussions, and structured Speech Therapy tasks. The themed vocabulary strategy is designed to help students learn new vocabulary words by building meaning around target words and making connections between themed concepts. The students have been enjoying listening, learning, and using new language related to spring!
