Fourth-grade students are getting ready for the new science curriculum with a fun filled Gummy Bear Scientific Method Lab! Students worked with partners to observe what would happen to a gummy bear when soaked in vinegar, salt water, juice, or Sprite! Students started the lab by coming up with a hypothesis on what would happen when a gummy bear is soaked in a specific liquid for a length of time. They ran the experiment by measuring and documenting the gummy bear's height and then soaking their bear for the school day. Students then measured and documented the bear's height after soaking all day in their specific liquid. Students were amazed to see how the size of their bears changed depending on the liquid! They finished the experiment by comparing the results with their hypothesis. These fourth-graders cannot wait to see what other fun experiments the new curriculum will bring!
