This month the School Counselors, students and faculty at R. A. Lutz Elementary welcomed 40 new friends to the Baldwin-Whitehall School District.
For the first few weeks of school, Mrs. Czegan and Mrs. W were able to meet with these students for a New Student Group. This group included sessions of friendly icebreaker introductions, "getting to know each other" conversations, team building activities, and a school-wide scavenger hunt. Students located key staff members they could go to for help, and ask for their signatures. These staff members included the school nurse, secretaries, technology support, custodians, principals, and even some bonus signatures from Officer Robbie, who happened to be in the building for our Dare Program.
For the cherry on top, our students were able to enjoy lunch with our principals and engage in some great conversations. It has been a great time getting to know our new students. Welcome to the BWSD family!
