At McAnnulty Elementary School, Color Weeks ignited excitement, learning and creativity among students. Each day was dedicated to a specific color, allowing our kindergarteners to explore hues and shades while participating in a variety of learning activities to introduce the color words. On Orange Day, students created Spookley the Pumpkin, practicing their fine motor skills while learning about the color's significance in literature. Green Day brought a flurry of apple-themed activities, where students engaged in hands-on learning while investigating the different colors of apples. Kindergarteners also utilized technology to sort pictures by color, build the color words and dance to color themed songs. To top it off, children proudly wore outfits to match the day's designated color, which transformed the school into a kaleidoscope of learning and fun. Through these engaging activities, students not only enhanced their color recognition but also fostered a sense of community and celebration.
