Johnny Appleseed Day was a school-wide celebration filled with fun activities that engaged our kindergarten students at MES! The children explored a variety of apples through activities that involved art, math, music, and even cooking! As part of their learning, the children counted and sorted apples of different sizes, and even created a favorite apple graph to visually showcase which varieties were the most popular. Apple masterpieces were created as students used fine motor skills to Q-tip paint. Kindergarten students learned about the travels of Johnny Appleseed, as well as the life cycle of an apple and the journey from seed, to tree, to fruit.

While engaging in our learning fun, the room was filled with the delicious aroma of cinnamon and sugar, and we eagerly awaited our homemade applesauce! The best part of the day was tasting this delicious treat! Johnny Appleseed Day was a memorable experience filled with laughter and learning!
