Students Celebrate Reading for Read Across America Day

McAnnulty Elementary students celebrated Read Across America Day with fun activities during the week of February 26—March 2, 2018. Read Across America Day is a motivational and awareness day calling all children and youth in every community across the United States to celebrate reading. This annual celebration takes place on or around the birthday of beloved author, Dr. Seuss. MES students enjoyed participating in a goldfish guessing game, theme dress days, grade-level choral reading activity, and a special D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read) time. On Friday, March 2nd, all MES students assembled in the hallway with books and read together. All students earned a certificate of participation for Read Across America Day. These individual student certificates are on display in the halls of McAnnulty Elementary School.
