Congratulations to Brooke Ireland McArdle on being named a 2024 Miss Smiling Irish Eyes Court Maiden.
McArdle is a Dean’s List freshman at Pennsylvania Western University—Clarion, where she majors in biology with a pre-medical concentration. A 2023 graduate of Baldwin High School, she was amongst the top 5% of her graduating class, a member of the National Honor Society, captain of the Lacrosse team, and a member of the Service Club, Best Buddies program, and the Special Olympics for Western PA. An Outstanding Young Citizen Award and Water C. Young Award winner, McArdle’s great-great-grandfather opened an Irish pub in the South Side in the 1930s, which still functions as one of the oldest Irish establishments in the Pittsburgh area. Her familial dedication to Irish heritage ranges from actively practicing her faith to attending the parade as an extended family every year. McArdle’s desire to serve others is exemplified in a multitude of ways. From assisting athletes during the Western Pennsylvania Special Olympics Winter and Summer Games, to educating youth during Vacation Bible School, to volunteering with Vitalant as a blood drive donor and volunteer, she plans to keep this desire to serve others at the forefront of her education. Her goal is to become a Physician’s Assistant specializing in oncology.
