The Baldwin-Whitehall School District is the recipient of a $35,000 grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Andrea Huffman, Director of Curriculum, and Dr. Janeen Peretin, Director of Information and Instructional Technology, wrote the grant application that secured these funds. The grant will advance computer science opportunities for students in District elementary schools. When announcing the grant, Governor Tom Wolf stated, "Over the next decade, seven in ten new jobs in Pennsylvania will require workers to use computers and new technologies in a constantly changing economy. With these grants more students will get the skills they need for emerging high-demand jobs." Read more about the grant here.
