Gary and Mary Eiben

The Baldwin-Whitehall Educational Foundation is a reflection of the generosity of our community.  Each scholarship and donation reflects an individual, family, or business, who wants to propel student success.

Gary and Mary Eiben initiated the Entering the Workforce Scholarship in 2025, committing $6,000 annually for 10 years to support three graduates each year. At the start of this school year, the Eibens also donated $15,000 to support the Baldwin High School Purple Pantry — one of the largest single donations BWEF has ever received. The Eibens were impressed with the professionalism and dedication of the Foundation and District personnel supporting the Foundation's mission.

"There were a number of people guiding us as we navigated our life choices. We are hoping that our contributions can make a positive impact on the lives of a few individuals.

As recent owners of a small security business, we quickly realized the importance of skilled technical workers and the apparent shortage of them. Supporting students who want to learn and excel in this area is very important to us. As a 1985 graduate of Baldwin High School (Gary), it seemed like the perfect place to invest in this initiative. Along with the $6,000 Workforce Scholarship, we also saw tremendous value in supporting the Purple Pantry. The Pantry supports students so they can focus on their education. The post-audit statistics presented to us are impressive and underscore the importance of the Pantry's mission. We truly hope that the Workforce Scholarship and our donation to the Purple Pantry will encourage students to continue their education journey.”

The Baldwin-Whitehall School District boasts countless successful individuals. The Eibens are hopeful that their donation will not only support the Foundation's initiative but also create awareness of the Foundation and inspire others to contribute as well.

Gary Eiben is a 1985 graduate of Baldwin High School. He went on to earn a BA from Duquesne University and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University, and served six years in the Army Reserve. Gary spent 24 years in various corporate roles, his last as Director of ExxonMobil's U.S. Retail Portfolio.
