October 5, 2018
This past week, October 1 - 5, 2018, the ALiCE Core team presented their classroom/grade-level lessons to students in all buildings, with the exception of McAnnulty Elementary School. (McAnnulty's ALiCE training will be rescheduled due the tragic death of one of their kindergarten students.) The lessons focus on the core foundations of ALiCE: Alert, Lockdown, Information, Counter, and Evacuate. The team created a video to be viewed, so that you, too, can gain a better understanding of the five principles of ALiCE. To access the video, please click on the video below.
The ALiCE concepts are the same at school, home, the mall, after-school programs, restaurants, church, or any other place children go. We are teaching life-long safety skills and want you and your children to be able to use them anytime, anywhere.
During the week of October 9-12, 2018, students will participate in Lockdown and Evacuation drills at each of our school buildings, with the exception of McAnnulty Elementary School; McAnnulty's drill will be scheduled at a later date. During the drills, there will be a presence of First Responders, including local police and EMS teams; additionally, this may involve the use of lights and sirens during the building-level drills. A Skylert will be sent following the drills in each of the buildings.
