Second-grade scientists are excited to share photos of their science sculptures, created as part of their learning about the properties of solids and liquids alongside Ada. Working at home with support from their families, students designed and built sculptures using everyday household materials.
The project encouraged students to look closely at items found around their homes and reuse them in creative and meaningful ways. Materials such as paper towel and toilet paper rolls, paper plates, buttons, socks, string, egg cartons, plastic cups and bottles, fabric, and paper were transformed into imaginative and thoughtful creations.
It was wonderful to see students’ creativity, problem-solving skills, and scientific thinking, and celebrate the hard work and innovation of our second grade scientists.
