The fifth-grade students of rooms 220 and 221 recently attended their first book-tasting extravaganza. The participants were treated to a dining experience like no other. Tasty novels were served on silver platters for them to sample. Students analyzed the reading levels, various genres, book covers, and summaries. Each child then ranked the categories determining what novels on the menus were best suited to his or her own personal learning. Students loved the novel selections and are excited to move forward with their Literature Circle choices. This activity was tasty teaching at its best!
