Michael Quallich, a fourth-grader at Whitehall Elementary, has just competed at the PGA's Drive, Chip and Putt tournament at Augusta National. Organized by the Masters Tournament, The United States Golf Association, and The PGA of America, "Drive, Chip and Putt is a free nationwide junior golf development competition aimed at growing the game by focusing on the three fundamental skills employed in golf."
Quallich qualified for the finals through strong finishes at the local, subregional, and regional events over the summer and fall of last year. Quallich finished first in his age group at the regionals to advance to the finals at Augusta National, which were held April 6–7th. Michael is one of only 10 students that advanced from thousands of competitors. Congratulations to Michael for this incredible accomplishment! See some of the festivities here.
