Open Up Pittsburgh Facilitating Mindfulness Sessions for Students

As part of the District's holistic student education, Open Up Pittsburgh is offering mindfulness sessions at Harrison Middle School and Whitehall Elementary School from September through November. Open Up helps students practice self-regulation, relaxation techniques, and expressing feelings safely while incorporating movement and yoga within a classroom setting.

Student reaction has been enthusiastic. Here is what some of the students have said so far:

"I like it."

"I love it! It's amazing!"

"I like the tree pose."

"I like it because I get to do yoga and it's relaxing."
