Welcome Letter

Dear Parents/Guardians,

On behalf of the staff at Whitehall Elementary School, I am happy to welcome you to the 2018-2019 school year! We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve to their highest potential. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. Each year, we host informative Curriculum Nights to provide parents with a detailed description of our new school initiatives and the academic goals for the upcoming year. We will also discuss the addition of Club Time and Morning Mentor Time to each school day. Our goal is to provide students with a safe, positive learning environment with individualized educational opportunities.

Our school PBIS Team has been working throughout the summer to improve and enhance our behavior expectation system. Our new behavior theme is Whitehall ROARS! We also have a new ROARS ticket incentive program that promotes teamwork and allows all students to participate in the rewards. More information about the revised Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports will be delivered during the Curriculum Night

Presentations. Each teacher will continue to use the Class DOJO app to manage classroom behaviors. The teachers will provide you with the information to login to this system and see how your child is behaving each day. The Class DOJO app also provides parents and teachers with an additional communication tool. Communication is the key to a successful partnership. On behalf of the Whitehall Staff, I want to implore you to call, email or message us via the DOJO app with any questions, concerns or insight into how to best meet the needs of your child. We look forward to a positive and productive year. The wonderful Whitehall Elementary staff and I feel privileged to be a part of this school family. We thank you for your support and look forward to working together this year.
