Fifth-grade Students Animate Two Hour Delay Video

Earlier this school year, the District received a Story Maker Grant from The Grable Foundation. The grant will enable students to produce animation for an upcoming national release of an animated Wizard of Oz movie.

Students from the District will join with students from Pittsburgh, New York, and Washington to design backgrounds, voice characters, sing, create sound effects, and puppet the animated characters for the movie. Each school is assigned a sequence from the movie and will utilize the training and resources received from the Story Maker Grant.

As an academic exercise in learning to use the platform used for animation, two fifth-grade students from Paynter Elementary School created a two hour delay video. Ava Faust and Kaylee Leicht teamed up to create a polished video that showcases their creativity while providing a functional tool for the school to use in the instance of a two-hour delay.
